MacLaren Tartan Clan History

A clan tradition is that it descends from a son of the Irish Fergus Erc, who founded the kingdom of Dalriada after landing in Argyll in the early years of sixth century. Baquhidder and Strathearn in Perthshire became the homelands of this clan that distinguished itself in many battles, including the battle of Bannockburn in 1314.
